Rutherglen and Hamilton West MP Tom Greatrex dropped in to a recent training session with the Cambuslang Football Club, and to present them with a £1200 award from the Big Lottery Fund.

The club was established in July 2011 and was awarded funding from the Lottery to help get new equipment and football strips for the club’s 60 young members in Cambuslang and the surrounding areas. 

Speaking after the training session, Tom Greatrex MP said: “I was delighted to be able to join in and train with the club.  It is clear that it is well run and appreciated club providing a valuable outlet for young people to participate in football.  I welcome the funding which the Big Lottery Fund have given to the club and know that it has been used to good effect.
